Financial Planning as an Hourly Service


Clients of Cannon Wealth Management, LLC with assets under care exceeding $250,000, not only receive investment management services, but also financial planning at no additional charge. Occasionally, individuals, families and business professionals find that our investment management services are either not necessary or are only needed on a minimal level. However, they still may wish to engage our firm for financial planning and professional consultative advice pertaining to a number of areas of interest, including but not limited to: retirement readiness analysis, asset diversification, social security planning, risk avoidance/ reduction, business succession/liquidation, education funding, wealth accumulation and/or estate transfer. In order to accommodate this need, allowing us to serve individuals, families and business professionals with less than $250,000 in assets under care, we are now offering financial planning services for a fee of $250 per hour.

Our fee structure is as follows:

Initial Consultation ... Always Free – With No Obligation

We never charge a fee for an initial conversation. We want to learn more about you, your goals, and your concerns and provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions you might have. We pride ourselves in being good listeners, and we are genuinely interested in what is important to you. Additionally, it is always a pleasure to talk with you and discuss with you who we are, our philosophy of financial planning and wealth management and how we may be of service to you, your family and/or your business. 

Retirement Readiness Report ... Approximately 4-8 Hours

This report will give you a snapshot of where you are now financially, as it relates to your retirement

Retirement Readiness Analysis with Recommendations ... Approximately 8-12 Hours

What does retirement mean to you? Are you on track? This detailed analysis is more appropriate for those nearing retirement, who desire a more comprehensive retirement readiness assessment. It consists of listening to your goals and concerns about retirement, assessing your current financial situation, helping you determine the probability of achieving your retirement goals, giving you recommendations to improve this probability while reviewing your current investment portfolio to potentially lower your risk of loss. (Includes stock option planning, retirement account withdrawal strategy, tax planning, and retirement investment/income planning) This service includes 2-3 planning engagements with a personal financial planner. Investment Portfolio Analysis ... Approximately 2-3 Hours

Are your investments a good fit for you? Are you comfortable with your current level of risk? Is your
portfolio performing as expected? This detailed analysis consists of reviewing your current investment
accounts. The areas of review include cost structure, historical performance, risk/ reward measurement, asset diversification and correlation, and appropriateness based on your stated goals and concerns. Risk Reduction Planning … Approximately 3-6 Hours

How much life, disability or long-term care insurance do you really need? Are there ways to shift your
catastrophic risks away in order to potentially protect your family and your investment portfolio? This
analysis includes 1-2 engagements with a personal financial planner. This risk reduction analysis will help you answer these questions and recommend strategies that are both independent and objective.

Social Security Planning … Approximately 2-3 Hours

How and when should you file for social security? Are there ways to do so that might help you maximize the amount you can receive? This analysis includes 1 hour-long engagement with a personal financial planner. We will examine all the possible filing strategies available to you, and help you determine which one is best for you and your family.

Business Transition/Succession Planning … Approximately 7-10 Hours

Are you a business owner? If so, do you have an exit strategy that will help you transfer your business
responsibilities to someone else, while maintaining your income in retirement? Have you considered how you might be able to mitigate some of the tax consequences of liquidation? This analysis includes 2-3 engagements with a personal financial planner. It is designed to inform you of your available options, and help you choose which strategy might be best for you and your family over time.

Comprehensive Financial Planning ... Approximately 15-20 Hours

For those individuals and businesses who desire a comprehensive financial assessment and detailed
recommendations on many areas of planning, we offer a bundled service assessing your current  financial condition and covering the planning areas of retirement readiness, investment analysis, risk reduction planning, education planning, and estate transfer. This comprehensive service typically involves 15-20 hours of professional planning work, and 3-4 separate engagements with a personal financial planner.
